6) Dream Factory

As you may have known, I've been in a sort of reading slump since like December, but this book really was an unexpected jem amongst all the metaphorically rocky books I've been reading recently. Dream Factory by Heather Hepler and Brad Barkley truly was enjoyable and made me wish to be at the "Happiest Place On Earth," Disney World. That is, after all, where the book takes place as the reader is introduced to the teens playing the Disney characters at the park temporarily while the regulars are on strike: Ella (Cinderella), Cassie (Chip), Luke (Dale), and Mark (Prince Charming). It is told in alternating POV's which i absolutely loved about this book because you get to see the views of both Luke and Ella as they work at the park. Naturally, everyone thinks Cinderella should be with Prince Charming, but this book shows that even though a match seems "perfect," thats not exactly what you need. Luke is going out with the seemingly perfect Cassie and Ella is with Disney know-it-all Mark, but these matches arent what anyone actually needs. Throughout the book, Cassie gets jealous because Luke is spending a lot of time with Ella and does everything she can to get them away from each other, but cant stop them from meeting on "their bench" at night to talk. Then, a scavenger hunt is announced to make the employees learn more about Disney World. Ella and Luke pair up because Cassie paired with Mark in order to win. I absolutely loved this book and definitely recommend it as great chick lit. It makes you believe in the magic of Walt Disney World.
